I have organised a hackathon on synthetic data

On 25th of May, 2026, I had the privilage to co-organise the Synthetic Data Hackathon for History and Humanities at Uppsala. It was a great opportunity for me, as this was my first time organising such an event.

We had an amazing keynote, and then the participants went through a series of texts which was comprised of both real and synthetic parts (the synthetic ones generated by fine-tuned open-source LLMs). We were interested in how participants could identify which parts were synthetic, and what questions they asked to figure it out.
